Introduction

OpenVAS (Open Vulnerability Assessment System) is open source software used for vulnerability analysis. It’s also a fork of the Nessus software

Prerequisites

OpenVAS will not install if SELinux is not disabled. We must therefore set the SELinux to disabled Validate the state of SELinux

# getenforce

If the result is Enforcing, you can change it with sed to change SELinux

# sed -i ‘s/=enforcing/=disabled/’ /etc/selinux/config

If the result is Permissive, you can change it with sed to change SELinux

# sed -i ‘s/=permissive/=disabled/’ /etc/selinux/config

Install the necessary tools in the laboratory

# yum install –y wget vim net-tools firewalld

Stop and disable iptables and enable firewalld

iptables

# systemctl disable iptables

# systemctl stop iptables

Firewalld

# systemctl enable firewalld

# systemctl start firewalld

Configure the firewall

# firewall-cmd –zone=public –add-port=9392/tcp –permanent
